Program Foundations of Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN) • Introduction to EBN and its importance in nursing practice. • Distinction between evidence-based practice, clinical experience, and guidelines. • EBN cycle: Ask – Acquire – Appraise – Apply – Assess. Formulation of Clinical Questions • PICO model: Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome. • Types of questions: therapy, diagnosis, prognosis, prevention, patient safety. Searching for Evidence • Overview of major databases: PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Scopus. • Advanced search strategies: keywords, Boolean operators, filters. Critical Appraisal of Articles • Types of studies: RCTs, observational studies, systematic reviews. • Appraisal tools: CASP, AMSTAR. • Discussion of study reliability, internal and external validity, and methodological quality. Application of Evidence and Outcome Monitoring • Translation of evidence into concrete nursing interventions (NIC) and care plans. • Monitoring and evaluation of nursing outcomes (NOC). • Ethical aspects of nursing research: informed consent, privacy protection, data integrity, and professional responsibility. Barriers, Facilitators, and Communication of Results • Barriers and facilitators to the implementation of EBN in clinical settings. • Strategies to overcome organizational and cultural resistance.
