Program - Frequency - Exams

Course program
The course is aimed to support each parent during the transition to parenting in order to promote the child's wellbeing. In the first part of the course (the first two weeks - 4 hours), the contents regard parenting, attachment, theories in developmental psychology, the construction of first relationships. In the last weeks (4 hours) the contents regard child temperament and social support for his/her care. The topics that will be examined in the course are the following: - theories in developmental psychology; - the emotional meanings to be parents; - parenting; - the neonatal period and the first years of children's life; - the attachment; - the child self-regulation and temperament; - the social support for child care.
Prerequisites
It is useful to have a good motivation level to learn and work in a group.

Teaching mode
The course consists of lectures, practical exercitations, and group discussions. The course is in presence (room number 11- Roma Azienda Ospedaliera Sant'Andrea).
Frequency
The frequency is mandatory.
Exam mode
The exam includes 20 multiple choice questions and 1 open question. The multiple-choice questions are aimed to investigate the knowledge of all arguments, whereas the open question is aimed to investigate students' ability to critically discuss an argument and its links with the other arguments. Each multiple-choice includes three alternatives (each right response is evaluated with a score of 1). Incorrect answers will not be penalized. The maximum score of open questions will be 30. The open question is evaluated with a maximum mark of 30.   The final score will be a ponderate mean between (1) multiple-choice questions (80%); and (2) the open question (20%).
