INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Course objectives

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN Interior design is an approach to architecture, focusing on the contained space rather than on the wrap delimiting this space. The course investigates and points out the aspects that define the housing concept. Besides it verifies the outcomes in spatial configuration, seeking that relation between good building practice and quality of architectural form in order to create a coherent whole. Dimensions lie on a human scale and the consequent phenomenal approach to the project are the referring terms for the maieutics of the disciplinary knowledge.ural form in order to create a coherent whole. Course program
he teaching activity is divided into three phases of study: 1 Fundamentals of Interior Space - lectures on architectural design through the reading of interior space - words and space: the terms that designate architectural form from within. Study of the grammar of forms of works selected on the basis of the comparison of formal concepts that configure their internal spatial layout and development 2 On Manipulation - transformations of existing architectural space; - reuse form exercises; - lectures on realised works and experimentation with manipulation studies and models; 3 On the Adaptive Reuse project of an existing building - study phase and in-depth study of contemporary domestic living themes. The design experimentation will be oriented towards the themes that shape the architectural interior, from the composition to the technical and figurative verification of its construction in the different components of the space and the elements that configure it. - deepening of the scale of representation with construction details - revisions and discussions, in the form of workshops, of the design drawings. The profit examination will be the overall verification of the entire course ordered in a homogeneous homogeneous graphic synthesis with the discussion of the themes addressed, both in the theoretical and of design experimentation.
Prerequisites
knowledge of architectural representation techniques and related modelling with physical models of architecture
Frequency
Not mandatory, as it is an optional course, but consistent attendance at lectures and practice sessions is necessary to achieve results.
Exam mode
The evaluations of the works will take place in discussion with the help of a seminar. The examination represents the overall verification of the entire path ordered in a homogeneous graphic synthesis and discussing the themes dealt with both in the theoretical and in the design phase.
Lesson mode
Lessons, reviews and discussions, through workshops, of the project proposals that will be produced during the course of the final phase of the course.
