Course program
The course describes the main topics of financial and monetary economics and policy, with a focus on digital innovation and the blockchain.
Topics are: Exchange and interest rate; money and policy intervention; financial globalization; history of crises; developing countries growth, crisis and reforms; digital finance
Topics are explained in the textbook "International Monetary Economics", 12th Edition, Krugman Obstfelf Melitz, Pearson publisher. Chapters 13-15; 17-19; 21-22.

Prerequisites
NoneNone. The advanced economics course requires basic knowledge in economics.

Frequency
Attendance is not compulsory, but strongly recommended. Students should register in the Elearning page of the course where they will be notified about every change in class schedule, and will access the files of the course (Papers, presentations, etc.).
To facilitate study and attendance, the detailed syllabus with the calendar of topics will be uploaded to the course page.
Exam mode
Exams are written, closed book, closed notes and will be accessed via the E-learning page of course (moodle); no makeup quizzes or exams will be given. The exam (100% of contents of the course) takes place in June/July/Sept. No personal device is allowed on the exam day. Check your Moodle user and password before the exam day!
Students with special needs can contact the instructor to agree on a fruitful (and stressless) exam procedure.
Lesson mode
The course is held in person at Sapienza University. Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Students are asked to register on the course's e-learning page, where they will be informed of any changes to the course schedule and will have access to course files (articles, presentations, etc.).
