Course objectives

The course aims: • To know the environmental factors that influence human health. • To know the basic principles of epidemiologic and toxicological studies to identify and quantify environmental health risks. • To know the World Health Organization and its role in managing a global health response to health threats. • To understand the potential in terms of reducing health risk that could result adopting good environmental practices to prevent environmental risks. At the end of the course, the students should be able: • To identify health risks that could arise from incorrect management of natural resources. • To collect and analyze environmental and health data • To know effective preventive measures to reduce health risks related to natural and built environment

Frequency
Attendance is not compulsory, but attendance will be noted
Exam mode
The examination includes a written evaluation, as well as the preparation of a technical report whose contents are established by the teacher.
Lesson mode
The course includes lectures, presentation of case studies, group activities of students under the supervision of the teacher.
