Presentation
The Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence prepares graduates to work in the field of computer science, with specific expertise in artificial intelligence and in the main areas of applied computing.
Graduates acquire a solid general academic foundation that enables them to stay up to date with the rapid evolution of technology, along with advanced technical skills that support a smooth transition into employment in the information and communication technology sector.
The programme also provides the knowledge and skills required to pursue further university studies after the first cycle, both in computer science and artificial intelligence and in other scientific disciplines.
The general educational foundation enables students to develop:
- familiarity with the scientific method;
- the ability to use supporting mathematical tools;
- methodological skills across a broad range of information and communication technology areas, including advanced artificial intelligence techniques;
- the ability to use English within the discipline, supporting integration into an international working environment.
To ensure these learning outcomes, the first two years of the programme, which are common to all students, include core courses in mathematics, physics, and statistics, together with foundational subjects in computer science and artificial intelligence.
In the third year, in addition to completing the core training, students can choose elective courses that help define their professional profile in key areas of applied computer science, also integrating subjects in economics and/or law.
The programme concludes with an internship, which may be carried out in an academic setting through in-depth work on advanced topics under the supervision of a faculty member, or in companies, where students may engage in activities such as software analysis, design and development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, systems, and networks.
The Degree Programme has established several Erasmus agreements, offering students the opportunity to gain international learning experiences abroad.
Admission to the Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence programme is subject to a selection process, as it is a limited-enrolment degree course.
