Course program
The class will analyze the main transformations of the film industry in the 21st century through a systemic approach (between audiovisual economics, new forms of narration and cinema aesthetics). How do twentieth-century historical and stylistic categories survive – from classic to art cinema, from film genre to postmodern rewritings – in the era of OTT platforms? And how does cinema claim a recognizable identity in today's mediascape? By analyzing various case studies the class aims to analyze the styles and expressive practices of contemporary cinema.
