Contemporary Italian Literature. Texts and Methods

Course objectives

The course aims to provide specific elements of 19th- and 20th-Century language, history, theory; it enables the student to master the subjects in order to use it and apply it also in other fields of study, with the correct use of the specific technical language. With the acquired knowledge the student is able to develop autonomous ability of connections with other disciplines in the various historical-cultural epochs.

ITALIAN POETRY OF THE 1960S: PASOLINI, CAPRONI, SERENI, RABONI Through the reading of a poetry anthology and the collections of four authors, this course aims to investigate the birth of a new poetic grammar, which took shape between the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Exam mode
Students are required to submit a written paper SEVEN DAYS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT, covering the topics of the course: specifically, a commentary on a text of their choice by Giovanni GIudici. The paper must be between 15,000 and 20,000 characters long.
Lesson mode
The lectures will focus on the analysis and commentary of individual texts . The lectures will be interspersed with discussion parts.
