Course objectives

By the end of the course the student must Know: -the main clinical subjects in internistic, surgical and oncological order from a preventative, diagnostic and prognostic point of view; -how to programme diagnostic practice bearing in mind the relationshiop between risk-cost-benefit; -the diagnostic-therapeutic procedure of the most frequent neoplastic diseases of surgical interest.

Course program
Pain: types, genesis, characteristics. Pain pathways, pain receptors and distribution of painful perception. Physiopathology of pain and of the organism's response. Evaluation of pain. Pain medications and their associations. Methods of administration of drugs and non-pharmacological therapies of pain. Introduction of the concept of "palliative care"
