Course objectives

Approach, management and treatment ofthe emergency patient. Knowledge of critical pathologies and their treatment as well as problems relating to the EmergencyHealth Service. To be able to carry out fundamental therapy in an emergency and know how to prepare the patient for surgery.Be aware of the treatment objective and the medico-legal implications.

Course program
Description and discussion of the main emergencies with particular regard to situations that may cause an imminent danger for the life of the patient.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites for understanding the topics covered in the course are an adequate knowledge of the topics covered in the examinations of: Internal Medicine and General Surgery I and II

Teaching mode
The course takes place through lectures in the classroom and professionalizing teaching activity in small groups through the direct evaluation of patients. Students will have to face the main therapeutic problems of the patient with comorbidities
Frequency
The students will attend frontal lectures and practical professionalizing sessions in small groups in the internal medicine departments.

Evaluation of the degree of preparation by oral examination
