Course program
- clinical analyses: the basic profile - diagnosis of the main alterations of blood cells - diabetes diagnostics - biochemical markers of cardiovascular diseases (AMI) - clinical pathology of the gastrointestinal tract (Celiac disease and Helicobacter Pilory) - diagnostic and prognostic tumor markers - diagnostics of viral infections (HPV) - cell therapies in regenerative medicine
Prerequisites
In order to understand the contents of the teaching and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities foreseen by the teaching module the student must have in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and have followed the general pathology course. Having taken the anatomy and physiology exams are considered essential to pass the medical sciences exam.
Exam mode
The exam includes an oral test which addresses in detail one or more topics of the individual modules. To pass the exam you must achieve a grade of no less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics of blood diseases, clinical pathology and internal medicine, a basic knowledge of the topics of general pathology and that he is able to read a laboratory report knowing the reference values . To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to connect them in a logical and coherent way, treating and placing the laboratory investigations. with respect to biological and pathophysiological processes concerning organs, systems and metabolic systems.

Prerequisites
To understand the content of the teaching and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities of the teaching module, the student must have the basic knowledge on anatomy, physiology and general pathology. Passing the anatomy and physiology exams is preparatory for the examination of medical sciences.

Exam mode
The exam consists of an oral exam that deals with one or more topics of the individual modules in detail. The knowledge related to each module contributes together with the overall assessment.To pass the exam the student must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The frequency of lessons is also taken into consideration for the evaluation. Exams are held at the end of the course.

Additional teaching material presented during the lessons will be provided to the students either in electronic format or as paper material. It will also be recommended useful material for any further study.
