Course objectives
The course aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge related to eating behavior, to the pathophysiology of diseases characterized by an altered nutritional status, to the role that nutrition can play in the prevention of chronic-degenerative diseases in all age groups.

Course program
The teaching of endocrinology of this course will aim to address the aspects of nutrition, energy metabolism and eating behavior, the relationship of these aspects with the endocrine system and, in particular, how endocrine pathologies alter the nutritional status, energy metabolism and eating behavior and, conversely, foods or substances or eating behaviors that influence hormonal function or favor certain pathologies. In particular, the following topics will be presented: regulation of hunger and satiety, introduction to the endocrine system, hypothalamus-pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, endocrine pancreas, male gonad, female gonad, mineral metabolism.

The program will be carried out with frontal teaching, which will be organized in accordance with the restrictions of the covid-19 emergency

This program will concern complex and constantly updated endocrine pathologies, so that the reference texts are not always able to give clear and updated messages. Therefore it is necessary to be assiduous in frequency, so to better face the verification exams

Multiple choice scientific questions concerning the whole program of the integrated course
