Program - Frequency - Exams

Course program
The objective of the course is to transfer to students knowledge related to concepts, theories and research practice on the topics of Inequality and Poverty. Specifically, with respect to the topic Inequality, the topics will cover: the concept of Inequality in relation to that of Equality and Equity; Inequality in the sociological tradition; classifications and dimensions of inequality; the most sociologically relevant forms of inequality (Education, Education; Labor; Welfare; Generations and Life Course; Gender; Migration; Digital Divide); As for poverty, on the other hand, in addition to learning about the differences between the concepts of poverty, impoverishment and the poor, the course aims to transfer theoretical and phenomenal knowledge with respect to the topic of poverty regimes in Europe and Italy, the origins of the Italian poverty regime, the typical forms of poverty in our country, and policies to combat poverty.
Prerequisites
Having passed the General Sociology exam
Frequency
Attendance is not mandatory, but it is encouraged and recommended.
Exam mode
An oral exam on the program will be scheduled. Those who wish, to get an idea of their preparation, can optionally participate in the exemptions, one for each part of the program.
Lesson mode
Lectures will be face-to-face, accompanied by the presentation of slides to help the student memorize more important points.
