General List of Topics Covered:
(I) Introduction. Demand, supply, price theory. Theory of externalities and public goods. Game theory, insurance theory, and resilience.
(II) Economic Analysis of International Collective Action. Conflict, cooperation, coordination, and deterrence.
(III) Applied Topics in: Global security; international relations; political regime transitions.
Prerequisites
There are no formal prerequisites.Fundamental concepts of game theory, microeconomics, and macroeconomics will be introduced at the beginning of the course, but prior knowledge of these subjects is certainly desirable.
Books
Slides and readings assigned for each class.
The instructor will directly make relevant resources and references available or provide instructions on how to find and consult them.
Any additional readings and references will be listed on the course's Moodle platform, which will also be used to share slides, lecture notes, and materials presented in class. https://elearning.uniroma1.it/

Frequency
Attendance is encouraged and incentivized but not mandatory. Access to in-course assessments is subject to a minimum attendance requirement.
Exam mode
Assessments:
(1) Two written assessments during the course (one midterm and one at the end of the course)
(2) One group project presentation to be delivered in class
The written assessments include multiple-choice questions and, if necessary, open-ended questions.
Lesson mode
The course’s instructional activities will include lectures, practical exercises, and in-class discussions. Subject to availability, guest experts may be invited to contribute on specific topics covered during the course. Student presentations on selected class topics will also be included.
