Course program
The course is organized into five sections: Section I – Management and Governance in the Public Sector Section II – Strategy and Performance in the Public Sector Section III – Innovation and Sustainability in the Public Sector Section IV – Finance, Accounting, and Accountability in the Public Sector Section V – Public-Private-Civil Society Relations More specifically, the course is structured as follows: - Introduction to the Public and Third Sector Institutional and legal characteristics Economic and social roles - Fundamentals of Public Management Evolution of state organizational models New Public Management and administrative reforms - Strategic Management in Public Administrations and Non-Profit Organizations Mission, vision, stakeholders Strategic planning and programming - Resource Management Human resources: leadership, motivation, recruitment, and talent management Financial resources: budgeting, management control, accountability - Performance and Evaluation Systems and tools for assessing efficiency, effectiveness, and impact Approaches, systems, and tools for measuring and evaluating Public Value - Communication, Transparency, and Participation Open government and social reporting Digitalization and innovation in public administrations Elements of public sector marketing - Non-Profit Organizations Management models Economic sustainability and fundraising Public-private collaborations Case Studies and Best Practices Analysis of Italian and international experiences

Exam mode
The final exam will be an oral test consisting of three questions (maximum score: 10 points each). Attending students may choose to take an optional oral exam in the form of a teaching demonstration, based on the flipped classroom model (a practical assessment in which students demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired by orally presenting a specific content in front of the class and the teacher). In this case, the oral exam will consist of two questions (maximum score: 10 points each), while the optional teaching demonstration may be awarded a maximum score of 10 points.
