Course objectives
Learning outcomes: Knowledge of the main pathologies of the Genito-Urinary tract with anatomical and pathological anatomical aspects, as well as the diagnostic and therapeutic approach. Clinical knowledge and reasoning of the Uroncological pathologies. To know aetiology, symptomatolgy and therapy of male genital tract diseases, infertility and sexual dysfunctions.

Contents:
Embriology and malformations of the genitourinary tract.
Anatomy of the genitourinary tract.
Diagnosis and management of urinary tract infection and sexually transmitted diseases including cystitis, epididymitis, prostatitis and urethritis.
Differential diagnosis and management of haematuria.
PSA screening.
Lower urinary tract symptoms; benign prostatic enlargement/hyperplasia/obstruction.
Diagnosis/staging/management of renal tumours,
Diagnosis/staging/management of urotelial tumours of the upper urinary tract and of the bladder;
Diagnosis/staging/management of prostate cancer;
Diagnosis/staging/management of testicular cancer;
Diagnosis/staging/management of penile cancer;
Obstructive uropathy: diagnosis and treatment;
Trauma of the urinary tract (kidney, bladder, urethra and testis) and emergencies in urology (including paraphymosis and testis torsion);
Urinary incontinence: pathophysiology and principles of treatment;
Male infertility (including varicocele) and erectile dysfunction;
Urinary lithiasis: pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment;
Prerequisites
Requirements:
The student must have passed the exams of the first 3 years, and have a solid knowledge of human embryology, histology, normal human anatomy, microbiology and human physiology.
