As a result of the tragic death of Raffaele Marianella on Sunday, 19 October 2025, along the Rieti-Terni motorway, victim of an attack on the bus carrying fans of the Pistoia basketball team.
Noting that this tragic event has deeply shaken the entire community of Rieti and its province;
Believing it necessary to proclaim a day of mourning as a sign of condolence and sympathy for the grief of the family members and interpreting the common sentiment of the citizens;
Considering, therefore, that it is the will of the Municipal Administration to proclaim a day of mourning for 28 October 2025.
The Mayor orders:
a minute's silence at 11:30 a.m., coinciding with the start of the funeral, in all schools of all levels, universities and all public buildings.
