The course aims to provide knowledge and understanding of the methodological, critical and applicable
aspects of the Discipline; it proposes general questions and specific perspectives by focusing on their
interactions on a global scale; it shows the variability of fields of interest; it enables the student to master
the specific topics in order to use them and apply them in other fields of study while using the correct
specific language. With the acquired knowledge the student will be able to develop autonomous ability of
connections with other disciplines in the various historical epochs and cultural contexts.

The aim is to let the student use his historical, linguistic and literary knowledge with more specific abilities for the inclusion in the future labour market.

Educational objectives

The final test evaluates the students’ cultural competences needed for a 25.000 characters (excluding Bibliography) linguistic or critical essay organized around one or more authors, texts and themes chosen by the students themselves.
In exceptional cases, a work of translation may be accepted but only for a short text which has never been translated into Italian before.
