Main literary genres of medieval Latin literature with particular reference to individual authors and texts --- Current methodologies of philological, linguistic and critical-literary research --- At the end of the course the student will have acquired a capacity for orientation in the literary genres of medieval Latin literature and learned the linguistic and philological problems necessary for reading a medieval Latin text.

The exam will focus on the topics covered in class: history of the medieval Latin language; history of medieval Latin literature, with particular reference to texts read, commented and analyzed in class. The student must also be able to translate the texts distributed in class by the teacher
