HUMAN ANATOMY II SYLLABUS (60 hours)
THE CARDIO-VASCULAR System (20 hours)
Overview of arterial, capillary and venous systems. The Heart. Internal and external structures of the heart. Conduction system. Coronary circulation. Blood vessels. Systemic and the pulmonary circulation. Structural and systematic characteristics of arteries and veins of the human body.
THE LYMPHATIC System (4 hours)
Thymus gland and bone marrow. The spleen. Lymph Nodes. Lymphatic vessels. Lymphatic circulation. The major lymphatic ducts of the human body: Thoracic duct and Right lymphatic duct. Lymph node groups (at groin and armpits).
THE RESPIRATORY System (8 hours)
The upper respiratory tract: nose, nasal cavities and paranasal sinuses. Pharynx. Larynx. The lower respiratory tract: trachea, bronchial tree, lungs. Pleura. The role of the pleura and diaphragm in the respiratory mechanisms. The mediastinum.
THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM (16 ore)
General organization. Macro- and microscopic anatomy of the following organs: oral cavity and related organs, major salivary glands, isthmus of fauces, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, liver, gallbladder and biliary tree, pancreas. Peritoneum and peritoneal cavity.
The URINARY System (6 ore)
General organization. Macro- and microscopic anatomy of the following organs: kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra.
The MALE REPRODUCTIVE System (3 ore)
General organization. Macro- and microscopic anatomy of the following organs: testis, spermatic tracts, prostate, penis, external genitalia.
The FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE System (3 ore)
General organization. Macro- and microscopic anatomy of the following organs: ovary, uterine tube, uterus, vagina. External genitalia.

Prerequisites
In order to understand the teaching content and to achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the course of Human Anatomy II, it is important that the student has sufficient knowledge of the human Anatomy I course.
Requirements are not requested.

Teaching mode
The teacher delivers lectures with traditional methods, with audiovisual aids and scheduling of lessons as reported on GOMP Aule/Orari System, published on the website of the CdS.
Practical activities are also provided.
Frequency
Following the Regulations of the degree Course "B" in Medicine and Surgery, the student is required to attend educational activities, formal, non-formal and vocational. The frequency is checked by the teachers through signature/updated lists provided by the Academic Office, as established by the CCLMMC "B". The certificate of mandatory attendance to the teaching course is required to the student to be admitted at the final test.
Exam mode
To pass the oral test the student has to obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each tests. The student has demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the structural organization of the human body, a basic knowledge of the human Anatomy II topics, linking them with analytical and synthesis skills.
To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must instead demonstrate that he has acquired an excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and coherent manner and to have the ability to deepen even autonomously
Human Anatomy I is required as prerequisite.

Reproductive system in the male and in the female.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge on structure and function of the human body acquired during the frequency in the high school. Essential knowledge acquired during the frequence of the course of Human Anatomy I.
