Course program
- The laboratory in the study of autoimmune diseases. Organ-specific diseases; systemic diseases; autoantibody assay methods; celiac disease; SLE; antiphospholipid antibody syndrome
- The laboratory in the diagnostic evaluation of diabetes. Diabetes classification; metabolic alterations of diabetes; laboratory tests for the diagnosis of diabetes and for the control of the diabetic patient
The laboratory in the diagnostic evaluation of renal function. Determination of blood concentration of non-protein nitrogenous compounds (uremia, BUN, creatininemia and uricemia); clearance tests; dynamic perfusion tests; electrolytes
- Urine test. Preanalytical stage. Analytical phase: chemical, physical and sediment analysis. Appropriateness of the request. Applications (kidney transplant, pediatric patients, pregnancy). Automation systems for sediment analysis.
Prerequisites
To understand the content of the teaching and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities of the teaching module, the student must have the basic knowledge on anatomy, physiology and general pathology.
