THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING

Course objectives

The course takes place at the end of a training course started in the second semester of the second year. The aim is to teach: KNOWLEDGE of terminology, symptoms, objective signs, laboratory investigations and instrumental investigations of the different systems ABILITY to conduct a correct systematic medical history and to write it in a terminologically appropriate way; to conduct the general physical examination in the normal subject correctly and to dictate it in a terminologically appropriate manner SKILLS of pathophysiological reasoning, understood as the ability to know how to interpret signs and symptoms and to identify the problem from which to start the diagnostic procedure

1. a practical test, preparatory to the writing: on anamnesis and EO among peers. The gestures will be evaluated using evaluation grids. 2. a written exam including multiple choice questions, open questions, questions with true/false answers and diagnostic and/or differential diagnostic problems to be solved including semiotics questions and medical statistics questions

-Anamnesis -Digestive bleeding -Jaundice and ascites- -Renal failure. Leanness and obesity -Nephrological signs and symptoms. Approach to kidney disease -Physical examination -Instrumental and functional diagnostics of the respiratory system - Approach to the patient with cardiovascular disease. Cardiac history and physical examination. Dyspnea, orthopnea, palpitations, chest pain, angina. Warning symptoms. Cardiac laboratory tests. -Cardiac instrumental diagnostics: ergometric test, dynamic ECG according to Holter, echocardiogram, coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization. Electrophysiological study, cardiac MRI and coronary CT angiography -Anamnesis and physical examination of the chest. Respiratory symptoms: Dyspnea, hypoxia, cyanosis, chest pain, hemoptysis and hemophtoe -Syncope, lipothymia and TIA -Approach to pituitary, thyroid and parathyroid diseases. Approach to adrenal and endocrine pancreas diseases -Symptoms and instrumental diagnostics of arterial disease, venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis - Pulse alterations (frequency and rhythm.) Edema, anasarca, pleural and pericardial effusions -Hepatic, biliary and pancreatic laboratory diagnostics -Approach to the patient with digestive disease. Signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal syndromes. Dysphagia, regurgitation, heartburn, dyspepsia, nausea and vomiting. Diarrhea, constipation, incontinence, flatulence, malabsorption. Warning symptoms -Pneumonia, Pneumothorax, Pulmonary embolism -Clinical cases and journal club (in English)
