Objectives

  • Students acquire advanced and multidisciplinary knowledge of the civilizations of the Mediterranean, the Near and Middle East, and Africa, with particular focus on archaeology, epigraphy, history, philology, anthropology and history of religions.
  • Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the strategies for managing, preserving, and enhancing cultural heritage, as well as on fostering the active involvement of local communities.
  • Students also develop a critical understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of both tangible and intangible heritage, through participation in excavations, fieldwork, and hands-on workshops.
  • Students acquire advanced technical and communicative language skills, enabling them to operate in international academic and professional contexts, and to effectively communicate cultural heritage content to a variety of audiences, both specialized and general.
  • Graduates will be able to autonomously apply the knowledge acquired to the analysis, design, and management of scientific research, protection, enhancement, and communication of cultural heritage in international contexts, including areas at risk.
